How do I curl my hair without damaging it?

you could put your hair in curlers. Hair spray before you take out the curlers

How do I curl my hair without damaging it?

Hot curlers.......and you hair looks so good!

How do I curl my hair without damaging it?

heat prtection spray, CHI is good but pricey bed head is also great =D. or hot curlers or just curlers at night. good luck =D

How do I curl my hair without damaging it?

You're 12!!! Girl go play barbies!

How do I curl my hair without damaging it?

get a curling iron.i straighten my hair every day and i use this stiff from got2b and i protects it so you can get some a protecting coat for it so it wont fry.

How do I curl my hair without damaging it?

Well i have to say that it pretty hard to do without heat.

I have the same problem with braiding and ending up with frizzyness. I suggest using curl boosting shampoos and conditioners and a curl boosting serum. You could also try this: once your hair is dry just use a small amount of mousse and scrunch your hair (although that technique wont look like the pic, its still curly)

How do I curl my hair without damaging it?

You can use curlers, a curling iron, or a straightening iron. Curlers are the least damaging but can also be the least effective because there's no heat. If you're really scared of having your hair damaged then use curlers while your hair is still damp and either let them air dry or blow dry them completely/over night.

If you want a more effective method, use a curling iron or a straightening iron. Make sure to spray your hair with a heat protector serum which will protect your hair and react with heat to help your hair curl easier and stay curled longer. Some people find a curling iron easier because you just curl your hair around the iron and wait. A straightening iron is a 2 in 1 buy because you can straighten and curl. The downside is that it takes a bit of practice to be able to curl with a straightening iron. Search up 'curling hair with a straightening irong' on youtube and people have tutorials as to how to do it.

How do I curl my hair without damaging it?

some straight irons have differnt plates to switch out.....one with waves.........but before u use it apply a spray to ur hair so it will prevent it from damaging from heat. (read the bottles)

go to a hair store...like depending where u live...Sallys, Armstrongs, or u can go to a local beauty shop and ask them what they suggest.....therma silk shampoo and conditioner also help protect ur hair from heat damage.

How do I curl my hair without damaging it?

use curlers

How do I curl my hair without damaging it?

try a thermal protective spray before you curl it also if you can try and let your hair air dry and a lower setting on your curling iron. Another thing doing weekly treatments at home here are a few products that work amazing ALL BY PAUL MITCHELL 1. super skinny serum for the frizz and it helps it dry faster 2. heat seal a protective spray 3. the strengthing treatment I hope this is helpful I work in a salon

Can i get my hair french braided and off my neck for boot camp?

The guys have to shave their head. If you're a girl you can braid it, just as long as it doesn't touch the bottom of your uniform collar. You also have to make sure it won't fall down while training. If your hair gets out, you will be in a world of heat with the drill sergeants. When I went to basic training for the Army some girls braided their hair, some had cornrows. For me, before I went to basic training I cut my hair short, it was so much more easier and faster to take care of. You may not have time to braid your hair or put it up, even brushing it was a hassle, especially if you're in the field. So if I were you I would cut it short. You can always grow it back when you're done with boot camp. What branch are you going into? The hair regulations might be different depending on what branch of service you're going into.

Can i get my hair french braided and off my neck for boot camp?

i dont think so..l my husband went to bootcamp and he says you cant.. u can only pull it back .. all the females have the same style... but once you go to A-school.. or whatever after bootcamp you can do what you want

How do I tell a co-worker that how I do my hair is my business and mine alone?

I change my hair alot- braids, extensions, whatever....

I'm used to people complimenting me on my hair and that's fine. I appreciate it. But asking me over and over within a 8 hour span is a bit much. If you like my hair, great but i don't feel like I have to tell you everything i do with my hair. Sometimes you have to keep em guessin, and my co-worker can't take the hint.

How do I tell a co-worker that how I do my hair is my business and mine alone?

when they ask, politely smile and say very vaguely, 'oh, you know, a little brushing here, a little hair gel there ... i like to experiment.' and then tell them you need to make an urgent call or that you've a backlog and leave. if they keep annoying you, just tell them your tricks are your secrets, and they need to keep guessing!

How do I tell a co-worker that how I do my hair is my business and mine alone?

Just tell her that you would tell her but then you'd have to kill her

How do I tell a co-worker that how I do my hair is my business and mine alone?

thank her for the compliment the first time. if she asks you how you did it or what you did to it, tell her that "a woman can't reveal all of her beauty secrets." If it continues, politely explain to her that you have work to do, and her interruptions are making you unproductive.

How do I tell a co-worker that how I do my hair is my business and mine alone?

If you want to get right to the point, you can tell your co- worker, "I don't comment on your hair, so quit commenting on mine". That can come off as a little rude, but hopefully she'll get the point.

How do I tell a co-worker that how I do my hair is my business and mine alone?

When your co-worker comes around try to act very busy. And when they ask about it say that you have a lot of work to do and you don't have the time right now to explain it. Hopefully after a while she will take a hint, and its not really being rude if you are working.

How do I tell a co-worker that how I do my hair is my business and mine alone?

Your hair must look nice to always be receiving complement's, I mean that is part of the reason why we all keep ourselves looking nice, to be perceived by people in a certain way, so you cant really bash anyone for liking what they see and wanting more information on it. But if you get overwhelmed you can simply say you would love to discuss the hair ideas and creations you have after work or during lunch. Just remind your co-worker that you would like to keep the work place professional and you can talk about what ever after hours. Your co-workers should respect you and your request.

How do I tell a co-worker that how I do my hair is my business and mine alone?

No matter what this person says, reply with "Thanks," even if they ask you a question. As you repeat this reply, you are allowed to sound more and more uninterested in the conversation, perhaps adding a pained smile.

You can also say, "Thanks, I have to get back to work."

They will get the hint, especially if you say the same thing over and over and over again.

Good luck!

How do I tell a co-worker that how I do my hair is my business and mine alone?

Say you got your hair did the way you wanted it did and for her to stop asking you questions about it. Then maybe recommend your hair stylist to her.

Never answer these questions.

Always respond to any comment on your hair with "Thank you!"

It will drive the person crazy.

How to find CURLY hair with out a curling iron or rollers or braids?

i want really curly hair please

How to find CURLY hair with out a curling iron or rollers or braids?

Hah, I think it's funny that everyone wants what they don't have. I'm natrually very curly and I straighten mine. My advice to you is blow-dry it with a round brush, roll it up, and release, and repeat. See what that does, is makes long, loose curls, a favorite of Eva Longoria and Jessica Alba.

How to find CURLY hair with out a curling iron or rollers or braids?

Go to a normal store like CVS or target, and look for curling shampoo. I've tried a few brands, and they're actually above expectations, and actually get your hair to curl.

How to find CURLY hair with out a curling iron or rollers or braids?

you can scrunch it. After you shower don't blow dry your hair or dry it, put lots of gel in your hair and scrunch it up into a messy bun sleep with it then the next morning take out the bun add some more gel and you should have some curls

How to find CURLY hair with out a curling iron or rollers or braids?

good luck without all that stuff that you mentioned

How to find CURLY hair with out a curling iron or rollers or braids?

if you want "really" curly hair...you're probably going to have to get a perm. but if your hair is at least partially naturally curly, you can do a lot to make it a lot curlier.

try getting curl defining shampoo and conditioner, taking a shower at night, then use Tresemme Flawless Curls mousse while your hair is wet, and sleep with it wet. It will be curly in the morning and dry. If it's frizzy when you wake up at all, just rewet it a little and use the mousse again.

if you would rather shower in the morning then do that and use the mousse while it's wet, then use a diffuser to dry your hair--blowing from the ends of your hair up to add volume.

I just got my hair micro-braided a week ago. Any tips on how to make it last longer? Mousse? Gel?

I have not had them but I would suggest those products that aid to reduce the itching. Although I did not have them(braids) I use the product for the benefits. Here in Louisiana we have the African Pride. There was one I like but can't think of the name brand now. I liked it because it had the "squirt nozzle" did not have to get hands wet.

I just got my hair micro-braided a week ago. Any tips on how to make it last longer? Mousse? Gel?

well I worked in an all black salon and alot of ppl came in for micros. Basicly take good care of them. How long they last also has a lot to do with who did them and there quality of work. I would also mousse them. Try not to wash them that often its been my experience that micros with micro tree lasts longer its a bit more pticy but does last longer. any questions feel free to email

I just got my hair micro-braided a week ago. Any tips on how to make it last longer? Mousse? Gel?

Wash your braids once in 2 weeks. This is very good for your hair as it allows your hair to rest from the chemical contents in shampoos even though some shampoo products say they have little chemical contents, my advice is, it's better to be safe than sorry. Washing your braids every two weeks will allow the braids to retain it's strength and reduce early rough appearance. I must say that braids is one of the very few hair styles that even when it's rough it's still beautiful. Buy a cheap old shampoo if you must as braid extensions gulp lots of it before it lathers.

4: Treat your natural hair below the braids extensions - Use infusium 23 for strengthen. If you can lay your hands on original unprocessed coconut oil the better for your hair and braids.

Coconut oil helps softens yet strengthen and promotes your under growth. It also promotes hair growth. Coconut oil is as strong and solid as coconut itself.

Mousse is also good to use it gives your braid shine and manageability.

Hope this will help...

I just got my hair micro-braided a week ago. Any tips on how to make it last longer? Mousse? Gel?

Keep your fingers out of it, maintain a good hair care routine and go easy on the hair styling.

Keeping your fingers away means not playing with the braids absent-mindedly and less scratching of the scalp (which shouldn't happen if you have a good hair care routine).

Hair care is more than just washing and condioning. Make sure to tone and rinse, too!

Finally, what's nicer than a loose style? Updos can put added tension on your scalp if not done correctly. A loose, protected style (where you have on a loose scarf, bandana or other hair covering accessory) will help the style last longer.

I got thick thick hair, black hair, ive been growin it for like 5 months and tryin to braid it?

Garnier Fructis shampoo and conditioner with thermasilk leave in conditioner. Blow dry it with the leave in conditioner.

P.S.

Are you sure your friend can braid? My hair is super thick, too, but I can braid it.

I got thick thick hair, black hair, ive been growin it for like 5 months and tryin to braid it?

you could try a perm for youngsters. this way it won't be completely straight (unless that's what you want) and can fro it out later. The only problem with a perm though is the fact that its not for everyone, and if it is not taken care of there may be breakage and hair loss. You may find a straightening come to be better for you..

Does anyone like to wear hair weave?

How long when you get your hair weave braids or weave should you leave it in?

Does anyone like to wear hair weave?

It depends on what kind of weave it is. Microbraids last the longest but also can take up to 12 hours to put in. There are also different ways to put it in ( sew, glue, fuse) you have to be more specific about the style and type you want.

Does anyone like to wear hair weave?

No I hate weaves, I would never wear it... I prefer my natural hair. You can leave weaves or braids in for at least 3 months.

Does anyone like to wear hair weave?

around 2 months

How long should my hair be before I get it braided?

at least 2 inches, any shorter and it will break off... use a good scalp conditioner before you get it braided

How long should my hair be before I get it braided?

Your hair does not have to be long go get braided. So long as the braider can grip your hair into three's then braid it you should be able to have braids.

Down to your belt line, long hair is more sexy.

How long does my hair need to be to get braided?

im a hispanic..how long should it be in inches please?

How long does my hair need to be to get braided?

G-Unit.....I personally won't braid one's hair unless it's at least around 2 inches, but.......at the "african shop"....they can braid hair that is ultra short, as long as there is something to get a nice grip on, they can grip and braid it...

How long does my hair need to be to get braided?

depends on the person doing it....my comfort length for braiding (yes i'm white %26amp;%26amp; i can braid) is like 3-5 inches

I can do nothing with my mohawk right now..it's about half an inch..and i want to put yarn in m

hair

Seborrheic have broken my hair off, should cut it or can i wear braids until it grows back.?

Braids will actually cause more damage to your hair.

Get the damage cut off.

Don't leave the split ends, etc there. It looks gross. Your hair will be a lot healthier without it.

Do you think these were traumatic hair experiences I went through?

When I was younger, my former foster mom used to get her friend from bible class to give me %26amp; my twin sister relaxers. They used to burn the $hit out of us %26amp; leave us with chemical burns, so we'd try to hide %26amp; lock ourselves in the bathroom when it was time to get a perm (relaxer).

A few yrs. later, the foster mom would put dookie braids (braids used with hair extensions) in our hair %26amp; make the rubber bands too tight %26amp; pull our scalp. %26amp; she'd put brown hair gel %26amp; we'd end up having sores in our scalp. I vividly remember the gel being COLD.

Throughout Jr. High, she kept our hair cut like boys because the dermatologist told her to cut the perm out of our hair since we have seborrhea, which is similar to psoriasis. %26amp; people would tease us, calling us boys %26amp; beating us up for no reason.

Clear gel makes my hair look the best %26amp; the neatest. But I'm traumatized by that cold, icky feeling on my scalp. It brings back uncomfortable memories %26amp; makes me cringe.

Do you think these were traumatic hair experiences I went through?

Yes, you need to get back into doing your hair, but slowly. Take things one step at a time. I think that you might have had issues before your hair, and your fears are just kept there.

I would consider some sort of counseling, seriously. I think it might help you out a lot more then what you really think.

Good luck! I'm sure you look wonderful!

You did have a traumatic time with your hair during your childhood. Your stepmother treated you and your sister very cruelly. I am sorry that happened to you.

Get a friend to do 3 french braids, one at the back and two sides, when your hair is damp. Sleep with a lightweight towel on your head. When you get up run a tiny bit of conditioner over your hands and smooth over your hair to get rid of frizz.

Quick questions about my hair?!?

First, what kind of haircut should I get? I have strawberry brown, boob length hair. (Pictures on bottom)

Second, what are some quick, everyday, school hairstyles I could do? Besides like ponytail, pigtail, braid, side braid, side ponytail, etc.

Third, crazy hair day is Tuesday and what style should I do? Over the top please!!

THANKS! :]

Quick questions about my hair?!?

just staighten it if you have time! if not add mousse and scrunch it up

Quick questions about my hair?!?

Quick questions about my hair?!?

I dunno ; go back to the 1800's even then red heads had friends

Quick questions about my hair?!?

Hair cut - either a classic bob (Katie Holmes-ish -- back in style) or long layers in back and layers shaping your face in the front. I'd have to see your face to give you a more personal opinion, but those are almost fool-proof.

I don't see the pics, so I'm not sure if its wavy or straight. If you can get some natural wave out of it, simply wash and comb some mousse or styling gel through your hair and scrunch with your fingers. Simple, quick, and cute.

Crazy hair? Haha...Put your hair in pig tails first. Then, put another rubber band half an inch from the first one, then another one half an inch from them, etc, etc. It'll look Pippy Longstocking-ish but cute and hilarious!

Hair Extensions - big hair help!!!!!?

I really need 'hair help'.

I have been using hair extensions for the past 3 years. I have tried them all, or almost - braiding, weaving, glue, keratin ones, clip in...All of them end up damaging the ends of the hair. I have began using them to add extra lenght - i already had long hair- and ended up using them having my own hair much, much shorter than when i started. My hair is good and strong and is becoming stronger once i left the glue extensions, but i can't see myself in any other way except the long hair. I'm a long hair girl. I need some kind of attachment that will let my own hair freely growing and that doesn't look odd like those butterfly clips with pony tails with synthethic hair.Is there any other attachment that will let my own hair grow strong and that i can use every day including in beach or swimming pool??????

Please i need help!!!I look incredible good with long hair and look like a little kid with the short - midlle bob i have now !!!!(i'm 29!!!)

Hair Extensions - big hair help!!!!!?

You should consider the lace front wig. Its the biggest rage among women who are loosing their hair or have thinning or hair that is breaking off. Weaves and extensions are very damaging to the hair. Lace front wigs does not come in contact with your natural hair as far as putting extra stress on the hair. The lace front wig fits onto your head outside the perimeter of your natural hair scalp, creating a natural hair line with the illusion of hair growing right from your very own scalp and adhered with 2 sided tape or a medical based glue. You can wear your wig up to 4 weeks before removing it with a special solutio that lifts the lace wig right from around your hair line. You can wear the hair up and back away from your hair. You can also part it in any direction. Have you seen Tara Banks or Beyonce's hair? Well, that's exactly what they're wearing. I too wear lace front wigs and my hair has grown over 4 inches since Feb 07. Honestly!! The hair is 100% human remy hair and comes in all textures and lenghts. You can also go swimming and exercising without any problems. No more trying to blend hair with your natural hair trying to create that natural look. You will be so happy with your new look as I was. You treat it just like your very own hair. You pick everything about your custom lace front wig. It is also the best choice to make these days. In the long run, you will also save so much more money and will have healthier hair because of it. Good luck!!

What should I do to my hair next?

Right, now I have braids. I had them since the beginning of Jan and they still look nice.....I want to take them out. I'm natural and I'm growing my hair out, it's kinda short but it grew another inch or two... I might get my braids done again or get my hair in a curly afro weave like this:

http://content.answers.com/main/content/...

What should I do to my hair next?

Hey girl...I do weaves so I can prob help you out....

I love the curly wavy look...it can be a very sexy hairstyle...However, you have to be very good with maintaining your curly weaves cause it is a pain and not as care free as braids...

I would recommend a wavey instead of a curly...cause it will be easier to take care of...Also, since your hair is coarse...it willbe best to get a ful sew in weave...

You natural hair will not be showing so it will grow better and not get damaged...Plus there will be not issues with blending in your hair with the weave...

What should I do to my hair next?

i think black grlz look gorgeous in braids. and im not a fan of that fro. but be carefull about how long u leave ur braids in especially if ur trying to grow ur hair out, because i was told it causes alot of damage to ur hair, and makes it very weak, and it breaks off easy. :/ be careful. and good luck! ;)

What should I do to my hair next?

Oh, I really like the 2nd one ! :)

What should I do to my hair next?

You could try doing a straw set, kinky twists or cornrows. All of them are low manipulation styles, which will help you retain more growth.

You should check out this site: http://www.nappturality.com there are lots of member submitted styles all over the site, and that should give you enough ideas to last a life time. You could always choice to rock your natural hair in a twist-out or braid out, those are always cute.

By the way, don't listen to that first poster. I'm sure a fro would gorgeous on you, as that is how our hair naturally grows from our scalp, and I'm not just saying that because I have one, I'm saying that because it is true.

What should I do to my hair next?

Hair Trouble?!?

try a bob!!!

Hair Trouble?!?

Well if you want longer hair get a weave. No, I know what you might be thinking, but everyone at one point in there life gets some type of "extension" in their hair. But when you get a weave you can have it long, short, medium, what ever. Even get a new color and not mess with the hair you already have. If you really want a new hair style then I would go with a weave... So many possibilities!

My hAiR WiLl It FaLl OuT.......?!?!??!?!?

well i got my hair relaxed about 3 months ago, and only kept it for a month because my hair dresser told me it would start to cut and i would lose my hair!! which it did! but it also grew but my hair line receded! So then i got braids like a weave and kept that for 1 month. I recently got the perm last week! and now i am told i can only keep it for 2weeks!! wtf!!! i really like having my perm because i can do so much more with my hair!! and i have learned to talk care of it better i apply dark %26amp; lovely leave in conditioner and it makes it much softer!!! and has more motion now!!! but i want to know will my hair cut again!! because i had the weave!! my hair grows in 2 weeks and my natural hair grows out and the permed hair stays but i have like fuzzy stuff on my head and then my permed hair is out!! but my hairdresser says that i can't perm it when that happens, but why??? because i'd like to keep it for when school starts at the end of August!! please help!! some professional advice!=]

FALLING HAIR -

Does your hair fall a lot? Don't worry, you're not alone. Millions of people from all around the world suffer from dry, brittle and weak hair. Some of the possible reasons for falling hair are:

Tension

Too much work

Illness

Poor diet

Over-exposure to the sun

Perming

Amateur bleaching

Too frequent and inexpert use of tints, rinses or other colourants

Here is what you can do to prevent hair fall

Shampoo regularly. Remember, a CLEAN scalp is a HEALTHY SCALP.

Brahmi amla oil also promotes hair growth.

A high protein diet with plenty of fruits, green vegetables and dairy products is a must.

Drink 10-12 glass of water everyday.

Use a very mild shampoo and condition your hair at least twice a week. When you do, make sure you rinse out the conditioner thoroughly, otherwise residue build-up will cause your hair to look limp and dull.

Know your vitamins! IRON is important for healthy hair and brittle, limp hair indicates an iron deficiency. Spinach has a good iron content, so gulp it down!

ZINC helps prevent hair loss and greying. Eat adequate zinc rich foods. Overweight people tend to have zinc deficiency, which is inversely related to the body mass index. Thus if you are overweight and if your hair falls too much, you may want to increase your intake of zinc containing foods. Recipes containing stone ground, wholegrain flour are rich in zinc.

A shortfall in VITAMIN B may cause dandruff, falling hair, loss of colour and could encourage grey hair. So B group Vitamins are essential for gloss, colour and thickness.

VITAMIN C ensures the health of capillaries supplying blood to hair follicles. Make sure your diet includes plenty of fresh fruits and veggies.

VITAMIN E encourages hair growth. Switch from refined flours to wholemeal and wheatgerm, eggs, vegetable oil.

COPPER stops hair from falling. Studies show that the copper content in the blood serum of people with falling hair is less than normal. Different types of alopecia (falling hair) are seen to have a deficiency of this important trace element. Include small quantities of nuts, especially cashews and peanuts, seeds, whole milk and beans in your diet as these contain minute but important amounts of copper.

Homemade remedies for preventing hair fall:

Apply almond oil on scalp and massage.

Grind fenugreek seeds in water and apply on your scalp. Wash off after 40 minutes. Do this every morning for a month 闅哣 if it suits you! Remember, different treatments suit different types of hair.

Massage warm castor oil + almond oil into your scalp gently. Wrap a hot towel around your scalp so it gets absorbed into the hair. Do this twice a week for healthy, shiny hair.

Add 2-3 drops of honey to a glass of water and use this as the last rinse after shampooing.

Quick Hair Care Conditioner

Mix 1 egg, 2 tbs castor oil, 1 tsp vinegar and 1 tsp glycerine. Beat until frothy and massage lightly into your scalp. Wrap your head in a hot towel, steam, then wash off. This conditioner makes hair thicker, shiny, soft and manageable.

Honey Conditioner

Beat 1-2 eggs (depending on the length of the hair), 1 tsp honey and 2 tsp olive oil. Massage gently into the scalp. Steam, and shampoo after an hour.

Alcohol Conditioner

Beat 1-2 eggs with 2 tsp brandy. Massage into your scalp. Leave for 10-15 mins. Rinse well. The egg nourishes your hair and brandy stimulates hair growth.

Your hair is a vital beauty asset, requiring constant loving care. And with a little nurturing, lush, glossy hair will be yours

ESSENTIALS FOR FALLING HAIR -

Does your hair fall often Arm yourself with these tools to combat hair fall.

Wide-toothed comb

Get yourself a wide-toothed comb. This is probably one of the most important yet underutilized of all hair tools. A wide-toothed comb helps you distribute conditioner evenly all over your hair while shampooing and conditioning. In addition, it also helps get rid of knots smoothly.

The best time to get rid of knots is during conditioning. Apply conditioner and run a wide toothed comb gently through your hair.

While untangling dry hair, do so in sections. Take one section at a time, and first, untangle the ends of your hair. Do so slowly, and don?t pull unless you want your hair to fall out in clumps or break.

Don?t wait for the last minute before detangling your hair. Every night, while sitting in front of the television, run a wide toothed comb gently through your hair, until you have untangled it completely. Do this every night, and you will notice that your hair remains free from tangles.

Leave-in conditioner

Dry hair tends to tangle easily, and, needless to say, causes it to break. Make sure your hair is never devoid of moisture by always keeping a bottle of leave-in conditioner handy. The next time you feel your hair is dry and rough to the touch, simply rub a dollop of leave-in conditioner between your palms, and apply it to your hair. Comb through with your wide toothed comb. Your hair will be instantly rejuvenated and moisturized. Gradually, the texture will also improve. This is a must if you blow dry your hair regularly, or if it is chemically treated. Such hair constantly craves moisture, so get yourself a bottle of leave-in conditioner.

Oil

Olive, almond and coconut oils are all excellent for the hair. While you could apply oil as an alternative to leave-in conditioner, oil tends to make your hair sticky, and you cannot style your hair well after applying oil. Your only alternative would then be to tie up your hair. For better results with oil, apply just a few drops immediately after washing your hair, when your hair is still dripping wet. Oil doesn?t penetrate the strands as easily as leave-in conditioner does though. Nothing beats a hot oil massage followed by a steam treatment, as the steam helps the oil penetrate the hair strands, strengthening them and curtailing hair fall.

Egg

Egg is great for the hair ? there are no two ways about it! True, it causes a tremendous stink in the bathroom, and your hair may let off an ?eggy? smell, but the results are instantaneous and worth it! Egg strengthens your hair almost immediately, and the egg yolk leaves your hair shining. Whip an egg with two tablespoons of olive oil and apply it to your hair. Wash off after half an hour. Make sure you wash off with cold water though, or the egg will start cooking in your hair, and would be harder to take off! Use a scented shampoo to counter the smell of egg in your hair, and follow up with a leave-in conditioner. Do this for a month, and you will be amazed by the change in your hair texture and the reduction in hair fall.

I'm black and i have slow growing hair..Have any tips to make it grow faster???

now i do the usual like every other black woman...i dont perm my hair to much and if i do i get a touch up around the roots to straighten my new growth.then sometimes i tell my hair dresser not to clip my ends(she's clipper crazy) when she clips it i feel she clips too much so my hair looks shorter. thats why i avoid gettin them clipped...also when my hair is finally healthy it starts to fall out from the middle so my hair looks eaten out. i currently have braids( i get them when my hair is a lil short and needs to re-grow) last time i saw my hair it was shorter then it had ever been..usually its at the end of my neck.. now its way shorter and im scared to show it because im so use to have a good amount of hair on my head. so plz is there any products besides pills, grease and getting your ends clipped that can help my slowing hair grow faster and help it from breaking off so much?

I'm black and i have slow growing hair..Have any tips to make it grow faster???

I recommend using Herbal Tea Tree Gro oil from Organics by Africa's Best. That's what I use and I've noticed growth.

Also, stay away from any products that contain petroleum or it's by-products. That ingrediant will clog your pores and make it harder for your hair to grow.

In addition, you need to get your ends trimmed every 6 weeks to prevent breakage and split ends. If this lady is cutting too much, go to someone else.

Deep condition your hair weekly and do an hot oil treatment once a month. That will greatly repair damage and promote growth. You may mess up your braids if you do that now though so wait until you take your braids out.

If you're looking for a new shampoo and conditioner, try Aphogee products. They are really good for stopping/reversing/preventing damage which will promote growth.

Lastly, there is nothing wrong with short hair. I am natural and currently have a 2 inch long afro. Lots of women can rock short hair!!!

Good luck!

I'm black and i have slow growing hair..Have any tips to make it grow faster???

To make hair grow faster and stronger all you need to do is eat a lot of protein like fish and all kinds of beans . Also I'd get a new hairdresser

I'm black and i have slow growing hair..Have any tips to make it grow faster???

I would recomend you going oldfashion, with some blue magic anti-itching,breaking hair grease. It will only coast you $ 2.50.This grease is carried at almost all local stores. I beg you, before you give up on grease try this one. Also, brush your hair nightly so that the scalp is stimulated.

I'm black and i have slow growing hair..Have any tips to make it grow faster???

i agree use the blue magic...i use it for my daughter and my bf uses it...i get it at the dollar store..it's cheap there also

I'm black and i have slow growing hair..Have any tips to make it grow faster???

I recommend reading the information on this site: http://forum.blackhairmedia.com/

I would start reading the hair breakage sections with the threads that read 101 newbies. It's a long read but you will be able to find out what's going on with your lack of hair growth.

I'm black and i have slow growing hair..Have any tips to make it grow faster???

Start messaging your scalp and hair line and temple areas with a hair dressing that contains natural herbs, vitamins and minerals. Then limit your use of heated hair appliances. Always wrap up your hair at night with a silk or satin scarf. Do not use a brush on your hair. Brushes causes the hair to stretch and snap off. Comb your hair with a extra wide tooth comb. Do not use rubber bands on your hair. Stop putting your hair in ponytails. Do not use products that contain beeswax, perfume, alcohol, petroleum jelly. Do use hair spray or gels on your hair. Wash your hair every 10-12 days. Shampoos dries the natural oils from out hair.

I use Doo Grow and Mane 'N Tail products.

I'm black and i have slow growing hair..Have any tips to make it grow faster???

go to www.longhaircareforum.com . that's a website for black women trying to get their hair to grow or just trying to keep their hair healthy.

What kind of hair do you use for micro braids?

i prefer human hair....yaky. ppl like the hair that comes curly, but personally i don't think that there's much you can do with it. i like the straight hair because you can curl and when you no longer want it curled, you can change it. the syntheic hair most of the time looks nasty and it gets old much faster, but it's the cheapest of course.

What kind of hair do you use for micro braids?

Straight, rich hair....

What kind of hair do you use for micro braids?

straight human hair! that's really the only way you can do it!

What kind of hair do you use for micro braids?

i use synthetic hair..it works..black and gold..the site listed tells you how to use human hair and what it looks like

SOME HELP? HAIR HELP???? Help?

I would love to help you!

TWO PONY HALF-UP HAIR:

1. Brush hair, with no parting anywhere on your head, to make sure you can slide your fingers through any area there.

2. part your hair on either the left or right side and rebrush your hair.

3. Then grab a section on either side of your head. Make sure you dont take all of your hair from the side.

4. Brush that little "pony tail" and twist it around andm put it back. Then put a rubber band around the pony to make sure it stays.

5. do steps 3-4 to the other side.

6. grab a little section of hair (flyaways) and smooth it out by constant (not rubbing but patting-ish and wiping motions) then brush all your hair out (keep the pony tails in) and make it silky smooth. (gel or moose might be nessisary)

PIGTAIL PONY LOOP TWIST:

1. part your hair in the back and front (side part looks the best)

*zig-zag parts are cool

*curvy parts are nice

* straight parts are also good

2. then put each side into a loose pigtail (loose is NOT optional)

3. then grab one pigtail and spilt it ABOVE the ponytail holder and slip the pigtail through that hole. Go from the front to the back.

4.Pull tight (but not too tight, it may get VERY bumpy then)

5. do steps 3-4 to the other side.

6. brush out each pigtail softly and flaunt your beauty to everyone you know.... or go to sleep in it to keep your hair out of your face.

(you can also do the same thing with one pony)

ONE PONY TWISTER:

1. brush hair into a not perfectly neat ponytail.

2. spilt pny above the hair thing and slip pony through it.

3. Pull tight, or not two tight.

CUTE NORMAL PONY:

1. Put your hair into a normal ponytail.

2. get a thick ribbon from the store and put it around your head like a head band. Tie it in the back and bobbypin the ribbon in place.

3. if you want to, a ribbon tied around your pony tail also looks good. (choose between a cutsie bow or a hang down robbon)

SOME HELP? HAIR HELP???? Help?

yours sounds like mine. I'd use hotcurlers, they make your hair not frizzy and dead, but full of life.

Wash your hair in the morning, and put it up the way you like it, and use mousse or gel while damp.

SOME HELP? HAIR HELP???? Help?

I think curly wild hair just in a ponytail is cute.... It looks wildishly stylish....

SOME HELP? HAIR HELP???? Help?

Can't really help from personal experience - I have straight hair!

Having said that

1) Go to a stylist and ask them to show you how to do a French Twist - I love this %26amp; it works for any type of hair.

2) I braid my straight hair when wet to give it soft curls! %26lt;giggle!%26gt;

SOME HELP? HAIR HELP???? Help?

My daughter's hair is naturally curly, and frizzy or poofy if it gets too dried out. So what I do is after her shower, (using good shampoo and deep therapy conditioner), I put in a leave in conditioning creme or spray in conditioner - and comb it through really well. I then take it and put it up into a ponytail up high at the crown of her head. Then I take the "tail" and wrap it around the base of the ponytail to make a bun and just tuck the end in and secure it with a bobbie pin. In the morning she takes the bun down and just finger combs it and it is actually still a little damp from being wrapped so tight and the curls are now just loose waves and it looks really smooth and her hair smells fresh and clean!

SOME HELP? HAIR HELP???? Help?

well... i have the same type of hair as you and... i know it can be a great struggle to do something with it to make it look cute and easy to do so..

here is what i do: a lot of the time i don't like my hair because it can be a messy curl instead of cute and trendy curl so i wet my hair down and use gel and curl cream or volume cream this makes your hair look cute and trendy but easy to do at the same time

hope you like the advice

sincerly

someone helping a person in need

SOME HELP? HAIR HELP???? Help?

Listen to a person who has naturally curly hair also, first natural curls are always dry. When its humid out there are two products that are my lifesaver for humidity. Rusk wired and Paul Mitchell heat seal, both of them are humidity resistant products and they work EXCELLENT!! With the wired you can cocktail that with anything mousse, gel, creme and it still works the same. If your hair is really wild and you want to calm down some of the curl use a smoothing shampoo and conditioner. Redken smooth down is good, also Biolage smoothing shampoo and conditioner is good too. As with a messy bun...don't make it too tight loose is better. Do you put it in a pony and then into a bun, try using bobby pins. Hope this helps

Is my hair healthy enough for kinky twist braids?

i agree with the comment before mine. I don't know if you are adding in the "marley" hair but if you are I suggest not to leave it in too long. If you are using your hair, you won't have to worry so much about the condition of the hair because you won't be adding weave.

Is my hair healthy enough for kinky twist braids?

when you take a strand an pull it does it brake if so dont do it

I am a black woman, I just dyed my hair and now I want to put in micro braids will this take my hair

micro-braids are bad for your hair period! Throw in th fact that you JUST died it and it may not be fully rejuvenated yet, that will make it even worse. Don't do it. If you want braids, go for bigger ones. They make not look as "fashionable" but youll thank yourself in the long run.

I am a black woman, I just dyed my hair and now I want to put in micro braids will this take my hair out?

yes. you will be left bald and helpless.

I am a black woman, I just dyed my hair and now I want to put in micro braids will this take my hair out?

Dyed hair is dead hair anyway you spin it.

So it's safe to say, if you stick tiny micro braids in delicate African American dyed hair....it will fall out.

Just the thought of it, I'm seeing your hair on the floor. Just Micro will do it.............do like I do braid it up for a year and put a wig hat on.

It'll grow at least 4 to 5 inches, all over your head and you can always get a good wig nowadays.

I am a black woman, I just dyed my hair and now I want to put in micro braids will this take my hair out?

Most likely yes it will cause a lot of breakage because dyeing the hair makes the hair dryer. Wait a few weeks before getting the microbraids put in.

I am a black woman, I just dyed my hair and now I want to put in micro braids will this take my hair out?

No. Poor maintenance of the braid style will.

What type of hair is used to do tree braids?

Well it's pretty much based on your preference: human hair or synthetic. I personally like using the human hair because the style last longer, whereas synthetic hair starts to tangle and mat after a couple weeks (this results in you having to re-do the style before it is actually needed). Tree Braids generally last up to 3 months, so if you are looking for a lasting hairstyle, I suggest using human hair. I hope this helps! :-)

Tips for taking care of my mixed daughters hair?

ohhh it is a nightmare...she has the curls of her black heritage, the thickness and ability to grow of mine (I am white with EXTREMELY thick hair that grows almost an inch a month) and texture of just in between, so relaxers are OUT of the question.

She is 4. Everyday I use Motions Hair Lotion to condition her scalp and hair and use it to style the hair.

Twice a week we wash using Just For Me Shampoo and then condition with a heavy conditioner.

To brush her hair I use Loreal Detangler, and use Silken Child Deep Moustuirzing Hair Lotion to set and style and condition even further.

I have moustierization covered...her hair is only dry at night....I used to plat her hair 3 days out of the week and it seemed to manage the extreme tanlging, but last month she cut one of her braids off, so braiding it OUT of the question.

I am always looking for hair care tips.....so give me any adice you can.

Tips for taking care of my mixed daughters hair?

Ok, I'd first like to commend you. You have done far more than many women in your place would do. All too often I see biracial children walking around and I just want to take them home and do their hair! So good for you! Anyway, I'm not mixed, but my hair texture is extremely curly and very much like the hair of my bi-racial neice. Seriously the only way to keep the hair from being tangled is to comb only when wet with conditoner in it. As for styling, I recommend using products by www.curlz.biz. They have been featured in magazines all over the place it works great. I personally adore Missjessies.com products but they are more expensive and don't carry a line for children. I would NEVER recommend a relaxer for children or adults. Nor would I recommend cutting. This type of hair is diffucult to manage. It's a fact. We have all had to accept it girl. Now you do too! Unless you want to alter the natural texture of her hair, nothing will change the way it is. But there are products that will help in defining her curls so you don't have to always do the afro poof. Braids need to be your best friend. I know you said she cut one off..But all you have to do is keep her away from scissors and I'm sure after the stern talking to you gave her, she has learned her lesson. My cousins did the same thing, but that didn't stop mom from braiding their hair! How many kids have you seen with lopsided bangs? This is something they do, that shouldn't stop you from maintaining their hair. Especially this kind of hair! Not braiding it will be more trouble than braiding it! I wouldn't waste time straightening a child's hair because they run around and sweat it out in a day (as you've learned). Save the straight look for easter/church/temple.. whatever... When she's older flat ironing her straight with a ceramic iron (maxiglide, chi, hai) will be another option for you. By then you will have learned to wrap the hair at night to preserve the staight look. Wrapping the hair involves brushing the hair flat against the haid in a circular motion until all hair is wraped around the head in a flat nest. You must then use a silk/satan scarf to tie around the nest. As a child, my mother would use a pair of panty hose over the scarf because I slept wild and would often rip the scarf off of my head at night. Braiding and unbraiding the hair will help in creating more defined riglets that hang better as well. Stay away frpm heavy pomades and all that crap sold for "black hair"..though I use some..lol...most of it is for marketing purposes and contain chemicals that will eventually dry the hair out. Use natural oils and conditoners like avacdo, olive oil, sweet almond oil, tee trea oil....and even mayo! I buy all of my shampoos and conditioners from the vitaminne shop/GNC.

Good Luck!

Also..ignore the poster who said the longer itgets the easier itgets. The longer our hair gets, the BIGGER it gets.It won't grow in a downward direction. Instead it grows OUT! lol...

Tips for taking care of my mixed daughters hair?

try french braiding, it is good for short hair

Tips for taking care of my mixed daughters hair?

talk to a hair dresser. maybe is certain kind of cut will help.

Tips for taking care of my mixed daughters hair?

It seems like it would make your life a lot easier if you would just cut it off really short, maybe 1/2 inch or an inch long. You don't need to fix the hair. Even if it is long, just gather it up and put it in a pony-tail holder. You are spending way too much time trying to control her hair. She will get the idea there's something wrong with the way her hair is. The idea that black hair needs special treatment i think is obsolete. Stop trying to make her hair different than it is. Accept it. Cut it off would make life easier.

Tips for taking care of my mixed daughters hair?

Use an Egg Soak on her it will take about 6 of them then wash it out..Try using pure rain water put a container outside you could also try using beer as well.once a week this will thin it out my sister has a baby like yours and does this treatment

Tips for taking care of my mixed daughters hair?

No perms and wash it every Sunday or so. Also, straight it with a hot comb. I'm 12 and I'm mixed. My grandma straightens my hair with the hot comb and it's down my back. Also, when her hair gets puffy or caught in the rain, put it in a big puffy ponytail.

Tips for taking care of my mixed daughters hair?

my best friend is mixed with black and white her mom is white and her dad is black maybe when she get older you could give her a perm!1 but for now maybe you should cut it to shoulder length and straighten it and then you could french braid it it always works for my friend!! good luck!!

Tips for taking care of my mixed daughters hair?

ive been doing hair for 15 years,a relaxer is never out of the question cut her hair to the longest length you can eaily manage get her a mild relaxer apply it to her ends only and keep up your normal routine.

Tips for taking care of my mixed daughters hair?

my daughter is mixed also %26amp; i have had simliar problems. her hair is super-fine (can't use relaxers) %26amp; super-curly %26amp; there is a lot of it.

she has two options: keep it long %26amp; mommy has to do it every day (of course she hates that!) or cut it all off.

she has decided to keep it long (%26amp; why not? it's more like her friends %26amp; mommy); the main problem i continue to have is with dryness.

i use the aquage line of hair care products; it helps tremendously. we use their shampoo %26amp; conditioner, detangler %26amp; hydrating mist, %26amp; the gel if i'm braiding or doing pony tails.

i also found that keeping her hair trimmed (every 6 weeks) helps to keep it from getting so tangled. this process has worked the best for us.

i stay away from products formulated for "black" hair, b/c they use a lot of mineral oil, which does not moisturize; it just sits on the hair shaft. besides, hair is hair, no matter your skin color.

sounds like you are doing everything possible; good luck!

Tips for taking care of my mixed daughters hair?

Whatever you do DON'T listen to the girl who said cut it short! That will not help AT ALL...except make her look like a brillo pad and get picked on when she starts school! I have very curly hair, I'm not mixed but my hair is similar to that of someone who is...also my little cousin is mixed and she has hair like mine... this is what you do... not sure if it will help but try it out:

1) Keep it long.. because the longer it gets the heavier it gets, and that will reduce frizz and keep the curls nice.

2) Try a deep conditioner.. I know she is of Black Heritage but this may work well... Use a very deep conditioner and detangler, comb, not brush, in the tub...makes it much easier.

3) When finished try using a leave in conditioner on her hair or a conditoner mixed with water. spray or rub in hair all the way through.

4) Try using a product called noodle head they have product for curls... like gels and lotions.

ALSO..try other curly hair gel products... but DO NOT CUT IT!

Tips for taking care of my mixed daughters hair?

Whatever you do don't cut her hair she will regret it and so will you. I braid kids hair all day everyday if you live in or around Athens, Georgia holla at me i will hook you up for free. But a good tip is keep her hair washed and braided for the summer and when she goes back to school just add beads. She will love it trust me I know.

Sew in hair weave coming undone?

i have caucasian straight hair that gets oily very quickly and have had a hair weave for about 2 weeks now. i wash once a week and my hair doesn't grow quickly, however, the braids won't stay in and i have had to get it redone already once. they are vertical tracks as opposed to horizontal tracks (i have never even heard of this being done but my hair dresser insists it works the same?). the hair is still sewn on horizontally with kind of a curtain effect with a sagging point in between each. the fake hair itself stays on i guess, but the weft slips down the braid and there is a huge gap of unbraided hair between each quasi vertical track (and i have five).

is a weave just not going to work out for my kind of hair? should i get my weave redone with horizontal tracks by someone else? advice, PLEASE?

Sew in hair weave coming undone?

I kind of got confused towards the end, but yes, vertical tracks are the same as horizontal, it's how they're sewn in that makes the difference.

1) If they are going to braid your hair veritcal, you clearly need more than 5. Those are too big. You probably need 8 at minimum. The bottom of the braids should be sewn together and placed upside down and sewn together, (hard to explain but any professional knows this) Also, you should have synthetic hair braided into your hair. Thus, making it stronger and a protectant for the thread and needle. (This is for a full head of weave and leaving room for a part. If no part hair should be braided in a circular pattern over the whole head)

-or-

If you just have extensions, the need to be small horizontal braids that meet in the middle and the hair needs to be sewn on them.

2) There should be no sagging of the weft, It shold be sewn straight across, and most people who do sew-ins usually "double-back" so to speak. Meaning you cross back over the braid with the thread so that you're holding the braid and weave in place.

My advice...no offense, but you need a new stylist. One who specializes in extensions or who does weaves more often on all types of hair.

You also may want to lean towards a lace front wig, you get the benefits of hair without damaging your own and so much more advantages

Sew in hair weave coming undone?

Baby girl, sorry to say that your hair stylist jacked you up! I have heard it being done vertically and it does look good if done right. Which yours is not. The braids are not small enough and you don't have enough tracks in your head. What you need to do is go to a trained professional and ask to see her work or something so she can hook you up!

If you want you can just take your weave out but be careful so you can reuse your hair. Get your hair rebraided, but much smaller. Then have someone you know attach the tracks to your braids. You can go to www.blackhairforum.com or www.blackhairmedia.com and there are some stylists there that show pictures of how its done. There is alot of good info. check it out! First go back to your stylist and tell her that you are unhappy with your style. Tell her what you now know, that you didn't know before.

Someone who is good at it can cornrow it at 2 inches. Look for someone who does it well. You can also have small braids at 2 inches but they will stick up all over your head...if that look is alright with you go for it.

How long does my hair need to be to get it cornrowed or braided?

Hi, I'm black %26amp; grew up all my life having braids/cornrolls in my hair. I know for a fact that if you go to someone who has strong braiding experience, they will tell you that as long as you have enough hair to grip, it's long enough to braid. = )

How can I braid my own hair?

Steps for Braiding Someone Else's Hair or the Front Section of Your Own Hair

Step 1:

Begin by applying a styling gel, mousse or pomade to clean, damp hair and blow drying it as smooth as possible. Braiding hair that hasn閳ユ獩 been washed that day and already has hair products in it also works well.

Step 2:

Divide tangle-free hair into three even sections. Place the left section between your left index finger and thumb, let the middle section hang free and place the right section between your right index finger and thumb. This will begin to create the hair braids.

Step 3:

Grab the middle section with your right middle finger and pull it so it passes behind the right section. Extend your right thumb and index finger so the portion of hair therein becomes the middle section.

Step 4:

Use the left middle finger to pull the middle section behind the left section. Extend or straighten the left index finger and thumb to make the left section become the middle section. Pay careful attention to the smoothness and tension of your hair braid sections.

Step 5:

Shift the portion of hair hooked in the right middle finger so it sits between the right index finger and thumb. Repeat the process, then shift the portion of the hair hooked in the left middle finger so it sits between the left index finger and thumb.

Step 6:

Continue until you achieve the desired length of the hair braid. Make a tighter, more compact braid by pulling the middle section into a horizontal line as you pull it to the right or left. For a loose, elongated braid, simply shift the middle section to the right or left, letting it remain in a vertical line.

Step 7:

Tie off the ends of the hair braid with a covered rubber band. Add a bow or barrette when appropriate.

Fast Hair Growth!!!!!!?

I am an african american, and have had kinky twists braids in my hair for 5 weeks, and am going to keep them in for 8 more. I don't know how much my hair has already grown, but does anyone have any home remedies or really good cheap products that works fast. (In like, 3 weeks.)

Thanks!!!!!

Fast Hair Growth!!!!!!?

Well there are a few things that can be one

Wash your hair often (grease and dirt that is trappped can delay growth)

Drink Water!

Eat a multi Vitamin (I use centrum chewables)

use a nice hair growth product ( I HIGHLY reccomend Doo Gro oils)

CONDITION

in no time I believe you will have a significant amount of growth!

Fast Hair Growth!!!!!!?

wild growth hair oil

http://www.wildgrowth.com/

Fast Hair Growth!!!!!!?

There is no real FAST way to grow your hair. Because you have braids I suggest you keep your hair cleaned, and conditioned. Use a good daily moisturizer like Keracare or Mizani's hairdressing, something light that will not cause oily built up which causes dirt which slows growth. Make sure you eat healthy and take a good multi-vitiman and drink plenty of water, this also helps.Good Luck!

Should You Perm Your Hair Before Micro Braids And If So How Long Do You Wait To Put Them In?

If you want to perm your hair before you get micros that up to you, but you will have to wait two weeks may be two more wekks to get micro-braids. Because within the first week and the second week your hair is streched and really easy to break off.I say you should'nt get your hair permed.

Should You Perm Your Hair Before Micro Braids And If So How Long Do You Wait To Put Them In?

you dont have to have a perm and if you do you can put them in right after you get done with you perm

Should You Perm Your Hair Before Micro Braids And If So How Long Do You Wait To Put Them In?

I would not recommend perming your hair before putting in braids, unless your roots are a complete mess. Not so much your roots, but your hairline. You can always just relax that area. Most people prefer smoother hair because it looks nicer. It would depend on the texture of your hair.

Should You Perm Your Hair Before Micro Braids And If So How Long Do You Wait To Put Them In?

perm puts lot of strain in your hair, also micro braid will put strain in your hair. Wait at least 2 weeks, but should wait about a month.

Should You Perm Your Hair Before Micro Braids And If So How Long Do You Wait To Put Them In?

No... do not perm you hair before getting braid!! Because it can thin out the edges of you hair!! because when you get a perm your hair gets thinner and straight %26amp;, too much pulling can cause hair breakage and your braids, can come out easy!! trust me, i know i wear braid year around!

I have shoulder-length hair. Can I still get invisible braids or is that just for shorter hair?

yes you can still get them, a friend of mine has shoulder length hair and she has them.

I have shoulder-length hair. Can I still get invisible braids or is that just for shorter hair?

Why would you want braids if they are invisible??

LOL~

I have shoulder-length hair. Can I still get invisible braids or is that just for shorter hair?

Never heard of invisible braids.....What are they?

I have shoulder-length hair. Can I still get invisible braids or is that just for shorter hair?

Umm I never heard of invisible braids. Enlighten me!

I have shoulder-length hair. Can I still get invisible braids or is that just for shorter hair?

Yeah you can still have invisible braids, they may hurt for a while when you first get them done, just make sure they don't pull the hair by the nape of the neck too much or it'll kill for ages and ages after

I have shoulder-length hair. Can I still get invisible braids or is that just for shorter hair?

My hair is past my shoulders and I've gotten braids. However, I'm natural, so it has it's natural shrinkage. Yes, you can get invisible braids, but know that some stylists will braid all the way down past your real hair. This is not always an issue when they are really small and your hair is relaxed because it will blend in. Also, realize that with shoulder length hair, the hair will shrink in a way - kinda making it look a little shorter because it is braided.
