Best way to make my hair wavy?

Help! I absolutely love that loose wave look, but I don't any easy way to do it. I've tried braiding my hair at night and using curlers overnight, but my hair always comes out weirdly shaped. Is there a better way? My hair comes to about five inches below my shoulders.

curling iron. separate your hair into sections. wrap each strand (about 1 ~ 1 1/2 in.) with the barrel closed (dont clip hair in) for 3 sec. let go. finish whole head. let cool for at least 5 min. comb finger throu ones that are too curly.

good luck. this has been working for me =]

I'd go to a stylist, as they probably know best. Another tip might be to use a curled curling iron. (An iron with a spiral going around it)

I had the opposite problem. My hair was too wavy. I would only use water and shampoo (no conditioner) and it would be outrageous. I had to get it cut down because it didn't look manly enough. The girls at college were getting jealous of my hair and the men were making fun of me. They said that the Duran Duran look was out of style.

You can try curling it with a straightener... if that makes sense? It won't work as good as a curler, so you should end up with waves! Good luck!

The best way to braid your hair is like this.

1- Wash and condition your hair before bed, then towel dry it a little bit. Now is the time to put in any product. I don't suggest gels unless you want cruchy hair. Try Be Curly by Aveda.

2- Braid it in two or four long braids, the tightness determines the size of it. Tight braids are small waves, looser are bigger ones. try using four or more braids, and alternating tightness to get some natural looking variation

3- Sleep well!

4- In the morning, take out the braids, give it a final blow dry with a diffuser attachment, of leave it as is, you should have some nice waves!
