if its tight u should only leave it in for a week max. but if its looks then whatever just unbraid shower, shampoo, condition adn re-braid.

It varies depending on the type of braid. For cornrows 2 weeks if braids are secure. For micros 1-2.5 months. Whatever the style, just because you have braids, does not mean you refrain from washing your hair. I can't seem to leave any type of braid in for more than a month because I tend to wash my hair at least 2 times a week with braids and then they start looking worn. If you refrain from washing your hair it will give off an unpleasant odor and having dirty hair is not attractive. Depending on how oily your scalp is will is one of the deciding factors in how often you should wash. Caucasions/whites typically have more oily scalps than African Americans/blacks which is the main reason they tend to wash there hair on a more frequent basis.
